New program connects UNE’s Center for Global Humanities with five Maine communities for McKibben lecture January 20th.
The University of New England’s Center for Global Humanities has partnered with the Maine Humanities Council to provide local discussions and live streaming of Bill
McKibben’s lecture on “Local and Global:Notes from the Frontlines of the Climate Fight.” Cary Library will host the streamed lecture and discussion from 5:30- 7:30pm. Friday, January 20th. Cary Library will offer pre and post lecture discussion around the lecture, focusing on McKibben’s book Eaarth, and the issue of climate change.
The facilitator will be Kathy Olmstead, editor and publisher of “Echoes”.
Each year SACAP is involved in many events ranging from art workshops, lectures and demonstrations to community wide social engagements and festivals.

The writing group meets in the Stellar Art Cavern every second and fourth Wednesday of each month except July and August. There is usually a writing prompt for those who wish to use one to write something for each meeting, but people are encouraged to bring whatever they have written to share with the group.
